More from this show

On this episode of Keeping It Civil, host Henry Thompson speaks with Aurelian Craiutu, professor of political science at Indiana University.  Aurelian’s research interests include French political and social thought, and comparative political theory.  He has written and edited over a dozen books on modern and contemporary political thought and his writing has appeared in academic journals including American Political Science Review, Perspectives on Politics, The Review of Politics, History of Political Thought, Political Theory, European Journal of Political Theory, and History of European Ideas.

Aurelian published Why Not Moderation?: Letters to Young Radicals in 2023, and this episode centers on the ideas he presents in this book.  Aurelian advocates for the virtues of moderation in radical times and offers the view that the responsible use of moderation can, in itself, be radical.
