Clarinet on top of sheet music

Clarinet Day

More from this show

We’re back again this week to celebrate yet another instrument of the woodwind family. November 16th is Clarinet Day. Much like the saxophone, the clarinet is also a family of instruments that come in many different sizes, pitches, and materials that vary based on cultural origins and the genres of music being played. Even in Western European Art Music, there is the B-flat clarinet, the bass clarinet, the A clarinet, the E-flat clarinet, the contrabass clarinet, the contra-alto clarinet, and the alto clarinet.
