Detective odd couple ‘Shakespeare and Hathaway’ return

The unlikely detective duo of “Shakespeare and Hathaway: Private Investigators” return to Arizona PBS for a third season beginning Thursday, June 11, at 9 p.m. on Arizona PBS.  This quirky crime drama is packed with corpses, comedy and cracking mysteries.

Frank and Lu are not alike. Frank is a talented and decidedly grumpy detective, with great gut instincts. Lu is an ex-hairdresser with masses of charm and a keen sense of trouble. The two shouldn’t work together yet, somehow, they do.

Now that Lu has passed her private investigator exams and Frank’s tidied himself up a bit, there’s no stopping them. But murder, kidnap, blackmail and infidelity still abound in the pretty tourist town of Stratford-upon-Avon. An ageing heavy metal star with a pact with the devil. A Shakespeare museum full of deadly secrets. A King Lear story set in a carpet warehouse. Welcome to the birthplace of the Bard, where low-life criminals get caught up in deliciously high drama.
