Women’s History Month reminds U.S. District Judge of Indigenous rights

More from this show

In honor of Women’s History Month, we revisit a conversation between Horizonte host Jose Cardenas and Diane Humetewa, U.S. District Judge for the U.S. District Court of Arizona

Most Native American women didn’t earn the right to vote with the 19th Amendment. Recently, the 100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment was celebrated. Humetewa explains that this anniversary just reminds her of the fight for Native people to be able to vote.

This conversation originally aired on September 7, 2020.
