Phoenix Chorale: Horizons

More from this show

At the end of their 2023-2024 season, the Phoenix Chorale presented “Horizons,” an eclectic a capella program of international music with Phoenix at the crossroads. Featuring folk music from all around the world, the program also included the world premiere performance of Joanna Marsh’s “No Final Shore.” Setting the text of Syrian poet Adonis, the work explores our relationship with the vastness of various landscapes, like the desert and the sea.

Tune in for this special performance on the next Arizona Encore, plus music from South Africa, Japan, New Zealand, Spain, and Scotland, on a program that artistic director Christopher Gabbitas investigates “themes of community, displacement, exile and reconciliation.”
