Ted Simons, host and managing editor of “Arizona Horizon,” moderated a debate with three candidates running in the Republican primary for the position of Maricopa County Sheriff.
Mike Crawford, Frank Milstead and Jerry Sheridan joined Simons to debate the issues.
Mike Crawford is a veteran who has served as a Sheriff’s Deputy, a police officer and a special DEA agent. Frank Milstead has worked as a police officer, a city police chief and director of the Arizona Department of Public Safety. Jerry Sheridan has a 40-year career with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, serving as a detention officer, a deputy and chief deputy overseeing the office.
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Department is one of the largest in the country, with Sheriff’s deputies patrolling unincorporated areas and municipalities without a designated police force. The Sheriff’s Department also oversees county jails.
