AZ Votes Debate: Congressional District 3 | October 17, 2024

More from this show

Ted Simons, host and managing editor of “Arizona Horizon,” moderated a debate with two candidates running in for the House of Representatives in Congressional District 6.

Republican Jeff Zink and Democrat challenger Yassamin Ansari joined Simons to debate the issues.

These candidates will face off in the November general election for the open seat that leans Democratic and encompasses parts of Phoenix. It was left vacant when U.S. Rep Ruben Gallego decided to seek the U.S. Senate seat. He will face Republican Kari Lake in November.

Yassamin Ansari is a Phoenix City Councilwoman for District 7 and was the Former Phoenix Vice Mayor. Jeff Zink is a minister and a former employee of Grand Canyon University. He attended the Jan. 6 rally at the Capitol. His son was convicted of a felony and two misdemeanors for his actions that day, including obstructing official proceedings and entering restricted grounds in or around the Capitol. Zink said the U.S. Supreme Court recently overturned some charges against his son.
