Scholarship program helps Arizona educators raise the bar

One of the many First Things First initiatives fueled by Arizona PBS is the scholarship program, which helps current or aspiring early-childhood and special education teachers complete associate’s, bachelor’s or master’s degrees.
Staff Profile: Lisa Ann Sepulveda
As a program coordinator for the Arizona Early Childhood Workforce Registry, Lisa Ann supports early childhood education by engaging with educators and caretakers across the state. Arizona PBS is the administrative home for the registry, which offers professional development and college scholarships to those in the field.
Sesame Street in Communities brings Cookie Monster to Arizona
Cookie Monster was able to meet his young friends in these smaller Arizona cities as part of a day of family resource fairs organized by Arizona PBS. Funded by First Things First La Paz/Mohave Council, organizations like local PTAs, parks and recreation services and schools participated to help families connect with local resources. Kids enjoyed a variety of activities and games, and, of course, spending time with Cookie Monster.
‘Clifford the Big Red Dog’ returns this December
Based on the best-selling Scholastic book series by Norman Bridwell featuring the larger-than-life dog and his best friend Emily Elizabeth, the reimagined animated series will premiere on Arizona PBS with an hour-long special airing Monday, Dec. 9 at 10 a.m.
