Triple P – Positive Parenting Program

Triple P engages, encourages and empowers parents, building the necessary confidence and skills to raise competent, healthy children and teenagers, and to build stronger family relationships. It also helps parents manage misbehavior and prevent behavior problems from occurring in the first place. Triple P builds upon parents’ existing strengths and teaches them simple and practical strategies they can adapt to suit their own values, beliefs and needs. Arizona PBS offers Triple P seminars, discussion groups and intensive trainings in both English and Spanish.

Triple P is different because it is not a one-size-fits-all parenting program. Triple P is a multi-level system offering increasing levels of education and support to meet the varying needs of parents.

  • Seminars (90 minutes): Designed for parents or educators interested in general information about promoting their child’s development. Seminar topics include: Power of Positive Parenting, Raising Confident, Competent Children, Raising Resilient Children.
  • Discussion Groups (2 hours): These are designed for parents or educators with specific concerns about their child’s behavior focused on specific topics including: hassle-free shopping with children, managing fighting and aggression, developing good bedtime routines, dealing with disobedience and hassle-free mealtimes with children.
  • Group Triple P (Five 2 hour sessions + 3 individual phone conferences): This is designed for parents or educators with concerns about their child’s behavior who require intensive training in positive parenting, or those who wish to learn a variety of parenting skills to apply to multiple contexts.

Host a free Healthy Smile workshop for teachers

While we’re on the subject of healthy teeth and gums, we’re seeking education sites that serve children ages birth to 5, as well as K-12, to host Healthy Smile Learning workshops. This free, bilingual resource from Delta Dental of Arizona and Arizona PBS helps educators teach oral health in engaging, age-appropriate ways.

Workshops are approximately one hour in length, and resources and activities will be provided to all attendees to support their student’s oral health, including digital resources, videos and children’s books aligned to oral health concepts.

Interested sites should be able to provide meeting space for up to 25 educators and teaching assistants.

Reach out to the Education Team at Arizona PBS for information by contacting Lisa Ann Sepulveda, Assistant Director for Education and Community Impact at Arizona PBS, at 855-818-6613 or by emailing Lisa.Sepulveda@asu.edu.
