About

What is Arizona PBS Educational Outreach?

We specialize in supporting educators and students in the classroom, and families at home by creating and connecting quality PBS educational content to national and common core state standards. We help our constituents improve student performance through evidence and research-based content that is relevant and engaging. We accomplish this through the power of noncommercial television, the Internet, radio, other media, outreach activities, and a variety of community-based initiatives.

Originally formed in 1983 as a consortium of schools and districts wanting to share cutting edge media, Arizona PBS Educational Outreach aired video on KAET for its educational members.  Today, Arizona PBS Educational Outreach is still supported by a membership structure, as well as grants, and corporate donations. Arizona PBS Educational Outreach takes great pride in collaborating with business and non-profit organizations to bring the best possible resources to Arizona educators, families, and the community.

As the technology has changed, so has the delivery model.  Today, Arizona PBS Educational Outreach provides digital resources via http://az.pbslearningmedia.org and face to face community outreach throughout the state including innovative research based workshops for early childhood.  As the educational arm of Arizona PBS Public Television, Arizona PBS Educational Outreach is a trusted PreK-16 resource that uses the most innovative educational technologies to enrich the lives of children, students, educators, caregivers and parents through quality outreach programs and services that educate, inform, and inspire.

Individual educators, schools and districts can become members of Arizona PBS and receive special educational discounts in addition to those offered by the station.
