Republicans support tax increase

More from this show

The state Republican Party surprised many by endorsing a proposal to allow voters to decide on an education sales-tax increase. The proposal asks voters to approve raising the tax from its current 6-tenths of a cent to a full cent per dollar. If approved the measure will go on next year’s ballot. We talk to Representative Michelle Udall, a Republican, who supports the measure, and Sean McCarthy from the Arizona Tax Research Association who is against the proposal.
