Coming Clean Special – Fueling Change

More from this show

“Coming Clean: Oil’s Legacy in the Age of the Green Dream” is an Arizona Horizon special  were we take a look at the oil industry’s dominion in the West and tensions being created as the push for renewable energy continues in states like Arizona, Colorado and California.

In California’s oil-rich Kern county, the mayors of two neighboring towns are facing off on the economic benefits and health risks of oil production and their vastly different visions for sustainability.  KCET’s earth focus takes us to these two communities, Taft and Arvin, now pitting the legacy of oil against a renewable future.

This special  is part of elemental: covering sustainability, a multimedia collaboration between public radio and public television stations in Arizona, California and Colorado.
