Rep. Ruben Gallego remembers the late John Lewis

More from this show

Georgia Representative John Lewis’ casket arrived at the U.S. Capitol today. Here’s what the scene looked like as colleagues and friends remembered him in the Capitol rotunda this afternoon. Due to the pandemic, a public viewing will take place at the top of the steps to the Capitol Building on July 28. Lewis’ death on July 17 at age 80 led to an outpouring of grief and tributes. Congressman Ruben Gallego worked closely with Lewis and called him a friend. He represents Arizona’s 7th District and we spoke with him from his Washington D.C. office.
