New GOP thirty percent tax plan

A group of House Republicans is pushing to eliminate most federal taxes and replace them with a federal sales tax in a plan that would also abolish the IRS. But tax experts warn the act is not so fair to working families while giving the wealthiest Americans a break. The Fair Tax Act was introduced by Representative Earl “Buddy” Carter. It would abolish income, payroll, estate and gift taxes and propose a 23 percent national sales tax, but the effective rate would be 30 percent.
