George Floyd exhibition comes to ASU

Arizona State University will be presenting “Twin Flames: The George Floyd Uprising from Minneapolis to Phoenix.”

The exhibit shows thousands of offerings left by mourners and protesters at a memorial spot erected near where George Floyd was killed by a Minneapolis police officer.

The offerings had been collected by a group of community caretakers and cataloged by the George Floyd Memorial Team, then carefully selected by a group of Phoenix community members and students who helped guide and shape the exhibition.

“We’re really hoping the success of this exhibition can open up possibilities for these offerings to be shown in other cities around the country,” said Dr. Rashad Shabazz Associate Professor at ASU’s School of Social Transformation.

The exhibition is being featured in the ASU Art Museum from Feb. 3 to July 28.
