Arizona Theatre Company presents holiday musical ‘Scrooge!’

More from this show

Arizona Theatre Company (ATC) welcomes Tony Award-winning Broadway star Shuler Hensley to reprise his role as the title character in its holiday musical “Scrooge!”

Shuler Hensley, actor, Arizona Theatre Company, and Matt August, Director, Arizona Theatre Company, joined “Arizona Horizon,” to discuss more about the upcoming production of “Scrooge!”

This holiday season, Hensley will be joined by more than 35 local cast members and musicians to bring this classic story to life. Hensley and Matt August, Director of “Scrooge!” joined us to discuss the production.

“In adapting it for stage we weren’t able to create those great camera tracking shots,” August said, “…so we had to figure out a way to make that happen on stage.”

The production includes the design Emmy-winner, Jason Ardizzone-West, Emmy-nominee choreographer, Spencer Liff, and orchestrator David Oh.

ATC’s “Scrooge!” runs December 7 through December 28 at Tempe Center for the Arts, located at 700 W. Rio Salado Parkway in Tempe.

“…to really create a fantastical world that takes us on a journey through Scrooge’s imagination,” August said.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at atc.org.
