Phoenix Public Library introduces new summer programs

More from this show

As temperatures have been rising, so have opportunities to engage within your local Phoenix libraries.

This summer, the Phoenix Public Library has introduced new summer programs for both kids and adults to enjoy. These programs include reading challenges and hands-on classes, such as painting and cooking.

Lee Franklin, Community Relations Director at the Phoenix Public Library, joined “Arizona Horizon” to share all the opportunities for family fun this summer.

“It is the place to be. The library is the best place to come to, especially during the summer. We’ve got lots of great, fun stuff that’s all free, family friendly and out of the heat,” Franklin said.

There are also activities for adults to participate in at the Phoenix Public Library.

“That is one of the things that’s featured, an Adult Crafternoon. So if you’re interested about learning how to you know have a craft project, or learn a new skill. Or you know a way to just have some quality time in a quiet way, meeting, connecting with others. We have a couple of our branches do a regular Adult Crafternoon,” Franklin said.

All of the upcoming summer events at the branches of the Phoenix Public Library can be found on their Summer Reading page.
