MIM Music Theatre’s fall concert series

More from this show

Andrew Walesch who is the Artistic Director of MIM Music Theater joined “Arizona Horizon” to discuss more on MIM Music Theater and its Fall 2025 Concert Series, featuring more than 70 concerts with world-renowned and emerging artists.

Some of the highlights for this fall include Jeff Goldblum and the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra, Kevin Bacon with his folk-rock sibling duo the Bacon Brothers, 16-time Grammy winner Jerry Douglas and Beach Boys cofounder Al Jardine who is performing with the Pet Sounds Band.

MIM is the only global musical instrument museum with galleries from every country in the world representing the diversity of music. Their displays are often cycled through offering new musical insight every time someone visits. They also have a concert venue where they host a variety on concerts year-round.

“Initially, the theatre was built to host more cultural events, you know, dance kinds of things,” Walesch said. “Overtime it evolved into this premiere concert venue where some of the greatest artists in the world like to come and perform.”

Determining whether an artist should or should not perform at the MIM Music Theater is not a matter of if their music fits what they’re looking for. According to Walesch, their mindset at MIM is that if it is great music, it has a place in the theater. They host artists who perform styles ranging from pop to classical to folk songs.

“We like to have a very very diverse array of different styles of concerts,” Walesch said. “We feature music from over 30 countries every year.”

While spectators enjoy the sights and sounds of the museum, performers share and equal love for the venue. Many have said that MIM is their favorite place to perform because they get to see the diverse exhibits of the museum and the energy that crowds regularly bring.
