2026 midterm elections; LATE dementia; Arizona Teacher of the Year

More from this show

On this episode of “Arizona Horizon,” Secretary of State Adrian Fontes joined us to discuss possible changes to the 2026 midterm elections after President Donald Trump announced he wants Republicans to “take over the voting” in 15 states in order to “nationalize” the elections.

President Trump’s comments raise concerns he may try to interfere in ways that would benefit the Republican party, which would defy the U.S. Constitution. These plans could possibly impact Arizona’s midterm election if it is included in those 15 states, which have not yet been named by President Trump.

Also in this episode, we heard about a new type of dementia, called LATE dementia, which is now estimated to affect about a third of people aged 85 years or older, and 10% of those 65 and older. Dr. Amit Shah, a geriatrician, joined us to discuss this new type of dementia.

Finally, we spoke with Tiffani Jaseph, the 2026 Arizona Teacher of the Year, who joined us to discuss her career as a teacher and the significance of the award.
