New report says climate change caused record-breaking heat

More from this show

A new report from Climate Central revealed that temperature hikes worldwide in June, July and August were closely linked to human-caused carbon pollution. In the United States, temperatures were the hottest ever recorded over the summer, with Arizona seeing 56 days of unusually warm temperatures.

In addition to worldwide climate change impacts, El Niño and warming ocean waters pushed temperatures in the western United States even higher.

Randy Cerveny, professor and climatologist at Arizona State University, joined “Arizona Horizon” to discuss how climate change and weather events like El Niño are continuing to impact Arizona’s seasons.
