New robotic advancements in breast cancer surgery

More from this show

The Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center is one of the only facilities in the country trained to perform a new robotic surgical technique for breast cancer patients. The FDA-approved surgery is a robotic-assisted single-incision nipple-sparing mastectomy. The procedure provides patients with a more discreet incision that reduces scarring and promotes faster healing.

Dr. Brittany Murphy, a surgical oncologist with Banner MD Anderson, joined “Arizona Horizon” to discuss this procedure. She is the only breast surgeon in Arizona with access to this advanced training.
