New breast cancer surgery; Dave Winfield’s MLB career; Desert Botanical Garden kids event

More from this show

On this episode of “Arizona Horizon,” Dr. Brittany Murphy, a surgical oncologist with Banner MD Anderson, discussed a new robotic surgical technique for breast cancer surgery. The newly FDA-approved surgery allows a robotic-assisted mastectomy that reduces scarring and promotes faster healing for patients.

We also heard from Dave Winfield, National Baseball Hall of Famer, about his career and his new book. Winfield played 22 seasons in Major League Baseball and finished with 3,110 hits, 465 home runs and 1,833 RBIs.

Finally, Gabbie Paduano, Children’s Education Manager at the Desert Botanical Garden, talked about how the Garden and the Great Arizona Puppet Theatre are hosting a children’s event. The event will allow children to experience an award-winning puppet show while spending a day in the Garden.
