Winners of Eight’s fourth annual Be More Awards were announced last month at the annual luncheon and awards ceremony held at the Eight, Arizona PBS studios in downtown Phoenix. Nearly 200 guests attended the event that honors the outstanding achievements and dedication of Arizona’s nonprofit organizations. The 2011 award winners were: Fresh Start Women’s Foundation, 100 Club in Arizona, Arizona Humanities Council, Neighborhood Housing Services of Phoenix, Del E. Webb Center for the Performing Arts, Veteran Tickets Foundation, and Pioneer Living History Museum.

This special profiles each of the award winning organizations and showcases the inspiring efforts to improve the lives of their fellow Arizonans. Be More Awards 2011 airs Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. on Eight.

Award categories ranged from outstanding marketing initiatives, exceptional educational outreach, innovative organization endeavors, extraordinary fundraising and event efforts, and commitment to arts and cultural awareness. 

The Be More Awards™ are supported by The UPS Store, Wells Fargo, Intel, and The Phoenix Philanthropy Group.

The applicants were judged by an independent panel of 15 impartial judges ranging from community volunteers to business leaders from throughout the Apache, Coconino, Gila, Graham, Greenlee, La Paz, Maricopa, Mohave, Navajo, Pinal, Yavapai, and Yuma area.
