About “Trail Mix’d”
Take a hike and explore Arizona! With thousands of miles of trails through all types of terrain, the Grand Canyon State is a hiker’s dream! Take in the beauty of the low desert, pine forest and everything in between as we experience the variety of Arizona landscapes and wildlife.
Casting call details
Host requirements
• Passionate, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about hiking, nature and the outdoors
• Knowledgeable of Arizona and Southwest hiking community
• Enjoys hiking in all types of environments
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Previous hosting experience on a television or digital program and/or working in TV/digital/film production preferred, particularly in lifestyle or outdoors-focused content
• Ability to engage and entertain guests, collaborators and a diverse audience
• Spanish-speaking or bilingual preferred
• Must be 21+ years old by April 1, 2025
Essential info
• Filming dates and locations will vary depending on schedule factors and will include overnight travel
• Production will begin approximately May 2025 and run for 12 to 24 months
• Host role is non-union
• Compensation provided as an independent contractor with AZPBS/ASU
How to apply
Interested candidates are invited to complete the online submission form and upload a video audition detailing their relevant experience and why they believe they are the perfect fit to host “Trail Mix’d.” Videos should be no longer than 5 minutes in length.
