Celebrating World Kindness Day in the classroom
Nov. 10
World Kindness Day will be celebrated on November 13, 2025, around the globe as a reminder that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a big difference.
Let’s encourage our students to lead with kindness, spread positivity and make their school and community a better place, one kind act at a time! Kindness is something the world can never have enough of and it doesn’t cost a dime to give.
Here are five ways to integrate kindness into your school day:
1. Create a kindness pledge. As a class, create a kindness pledge that you refer to or recite daily. This sets the tone and welcomes kindness into your classroom every day.
2. Give kindness shout-outs. Allow students to give each other written kindness shout-outs on sticky notes or special paper. You can make these anonymous if you wish. At the end of each day, take a minute or two to read some out loud.
3. Implement kindness challenges. This can be done in many ways: You can either assign the entire class a simple challenge such as saying hello to three new friends on the playground; or you can assign each student in class a kindness buddy they get to do kind acts for each week.
4. Start a kindness chain. Each time a student shows kindness, add a link to a classroom chain. Hang up the chain as a physical representation of your classroom’s kindness.
5. Play kindness bingo. Create a bingo card with kind acts. Students can mark them off as they complete each one over a decided period of time. Blackout cards can receive a prize!
