Latino & Native American Cultural Resources – Arizona PBS LearningMedia

The Latino and Native-American community have a rich culture here in the Southwest, particularly Arizona.

On Arizona PBS Learning Media’s website, there is a plentiful amount of material on these communities, for both teachers and parents alike. All of the resources here line up with state and national standards.

Specifically, for resources on Latino culture, there is an entire page full of tools, such as educator guides, media resources, arts and artists, civil rights, and much more. It is a part of the Latino Public Broadcasting Education Collection. The LPB provides a voice to the diverse Latino community throughout the United States.

As Long As I Remember: American Veteranos examines the steep personal toll and enduring legacy of the Vietnam War on three artists from south Texas: visual artist Juan Farias, author Michael Rodriguez and actor/poet Eduardo Garza. Through their personal histories and experiences of these Chicano veterans, the film reveals the important role art plays in sorting their memories, celebrating their culture, and treating the long-term impact of their military experience including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Native American Heritage Month | All About the Holidays

 

Native American Heritage Month honors the indigenous people living in the United States before the arrival of the Europeans. In November, the United States honors and celebrates the customs and legacy of Native Americans.
