American Experience: Jesse Owens

Jesse Owens was the most famous athlete of his time. His triumph at the 1936 Olympic Games inspired the world. Owens’ grace and athleticism rallied crowds across the globe, despite the ongoing racism in the country. “Jesse Owens” takes a look at how Americans idolize athletes during their fleeting fame, but forgets them once they no longer suit their purpose.
