MIM is widening visitors’ experience

More from this show

We go behind the scenes at MIM (Musical Instrument Museum) to talk to their Curator of Education Katie Palmer. When you visit a museum, the experience is not just limited to tours, there are also educational programs available. The position of Curator of Education is very different than that of other curators, in that rather than focus on just the exhibitions, their goal is to widen your experience and help you appreciate the museum after you leave. The twist to the position with respect to COVID is the programming has moved into the virtual world.

Palmer is a classical trained clarinetist and loves exploring why people make music all over the globe. This helped her realize the possibility of social change through the education of music.
