Phoenix Jazz Girls Rising fosters young musicians

More from this show

The Nash has several programs to develop young jazz artists. There is a new program called Phoenix Jazz Girls Rising that seeks to develop young female jazz musicians, ages 10-17.

Mary Petrich (saxophone) and Claudia Bloom (piano) are professional jazz musicians in the Valley who started the group. As Mary says, she found that she was often the only woman playing in the band. This program aims to change that for a new generation.
