The Phoenix Symphony broadcast, featuring performances from their “Classics Series,” returns to the airwaves for another season. Listen every Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. Enjoy world-class performances from Beethoven and Mozart to Copland and Barber, along with many new works. All performances are recorded by Arizona PBS’s own Central Sound.
Some highlights to look forward to this season: Antonin Dvorak invites us to explore a NEW WORLD… You’ll tour the heavens with Gustav Holst’s THE PLANETS and Gustav Mahler’s Symphony #4 incorporating his song, THE HEAVENLY LIFE… Gabriela Ortiz gives us a peek inside a Mexican nightclub with her 2019 orchestral work, ANTROPOLIS … and visit the fairy tale world of MOTHER GOOSE courtesy of Maurice Ravel. The broadcast season opens with a concert conducted by Paolo Bortolameolli, who is now The Phoenix Symphony’s Music Director Designate.
Broadcasts begin Wednesday, October 7 and run until December 16.
