Our team participates in local community events around the state, handing out books and resources to families and educators. Each year, we strive to reach more community members than the year before. Learn where we’ve been, then tell us where we should go next!

This spring, we hosted our annual Be My Neighbor Day! Over 3,000 children and their families attended the event which featured a variety of fun activities, interactive play zones, and educational experiences designed to promote early childhood development.
Our staff hosted multiple training and early childhood education opportunities for educators across the state, distributing Arizona PBS resources, college scholarship information and telling them about free professional development through the Arizona Early Childhood Workforce Registry.

Spring events 2024
From free professional development events for educators to playtime with Wombats, Daniel Tiger and Clifford the Big Red Dog, our Educational Outreach Team traveled around the state emphasizing the importance of early childhood education and neighborhood connections.

Winter events
This winter, our regional coordinators have been in the holiday spirit while being out in the field. We attended the Southern Arizona Association for the Education of Young Children Conference and hosted a Spanish Family Math event at Central Arizona College.

Fall events
This fall, our Education Outreach team participated at the SciTech Institute Summit at the Arizona Science Center. We also went to the bottom of the Grand Canyon to hand out resources to the Havasupai tribe. The team gave out helpful resources on dental health, scholarships, the registry and PBS swag. We also celebrated the winners of the 2023 Arizona PBS Digital Video Contest.

Summer events
This summer, the Arizona PBS Education team has been all over the state. From Flagstaff to Lake Havasu City to Fort Apache, our team has been handing out books, dental resources, crafts and more. We also celebrated the winners of the 2023 Arizona PBS Writing Contest.

Spring events
Spring was a busy time for the Arizona PBS Education team! Events like community fairs, education conferences and Dr. Seuss’ birthday sent the team across the state to meet Arizona families and educators. The team gave out activity books, crafts and dental health goodie bags in places like Bullhead City, Yuma and Avondale.

Winter events
The Education team spent the winter celebrating the holidays and giving back to the community. At Christmas in the Park in Parker, the team helped families make holiday crafts. And team members delivered presents like books and puzzles to the Safe House Shelter in Yuma.
