An interview with Kathleen Winn, candidate for Arizona’s Congressional District 6

Ted Simons sat down with Kathleen Winn, Republican candidate running for Arizona’s Congressional District 6. The district includes Greenlee County, Cochise County, and areas of Pima County, Pinal County and Graham County.

If elected, Winn said she would focus on securing the border.

Winn defined a secure border as one with operational control and one that can “dismantle cartels and their operations.”

“At the end of the day, if you’re there representing the people, you need to be able to discern and explain to the people that you’re representing why you’re voting for something or voting against it, and I think that’s where a lot of this is falling down,” Winn said. “People keep saying they want to secure the border but their actions aren’t in accord with doing that.”

When asked about abortion rights, Winn said she agrees with the Supreme Court’s ruling to overturn Roe v. Wade and leave it to the states to decide their own laws.

Winn said she is guided by her Christian, conservative views but is focused on making Congress more productive and to “restore order to our country.”
