Chandler hosts ceremony to honor veterans

More from this show

The city of Chandler, Arizona, holds a special ceremony to honor veterans during their annual Mayor’s Safety and Veterans Expo this year.

This will be the seventh year the city has hosted the expo, where community members can come to learn about everything from home safety to healthy lifestyle habits. This year the city adds “Operation Welcome Home Troops” to the agenda, where Veterans from Chandler will be publicly thanked for their service.

Nora Ellen, the City of Chandler councilmember who proposed the ceremony, says the event is all about celebrating the service of local veterans.

The Mayor’s Safety and Veterans Expo will be held at Veterans Oasis Park on Nov. 11, and the “Operation Welcome Home Troops” begins at 11:11 a.m.
