Senior Citizens and Opioid Addiction

Two recent reports show that opioid addiction is a growing problem among the senior citizen population. The need to manage pain that often comes with old age results in opioid prescriptions that are leading to addictions that led to a 74 percent increase in opioid-related emergency department visits for seniors. We hear more about the problem from Sarah Payne, a Banner Health geriatrician.
