Ahead of August primaries, Arizona absentee ballot requests surge

More from this show

Polls will be open on August 4th for voters to decide on Republican and Democratic primary races. We got an update from Maricopa County Recorder, Adrian Fontes on the August election.

According to Fontes 710,000, Maricopa County voters have already voted early. Compared to past early voter turnouts this year is substantially higher.

The increase in early voter turnout this election cycle is being attributed to the largely expanded voting centers. The centers have provided voters with another way to vote early. Fontes says he is very pleased with the increase in early voter turnout.

With in-person voting kicking off tomorrow Fontes recommends people take the safety precautions put in place to make it safe for everyone.

Furthermore, Maricopa County voters can find their voting location here.
