Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport to open new terminal

More from this show

The Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport will open a new terminal with more gates, retail shops, and restaurants.

Brian O’Neill, CEO of Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport, joined Arizona Horizon to discuss the 30,000 square foot expansion of the southeast valley airport. The expansion will allow them to operate out of 11 gates.

The $28 million project was covered by federal grant as well as state and local funding.

O’Neill is hopeful the population growth in the area and companies relocating to the area will lead to more airlines and more direct flights coming out of the airport.

The new terminal will open Wednesday, Feb. 21.
