Non-profit aimed at de-stigmatizing homelessness

More from this show

The non-profit is dedicated to de-stigmatizing homelessness and rehumanizing individuals through seasonal care packages and meaningful connections.

Founded in 2015 in NYC, it has since expanded to Seattle in 2021, Phoenix in 2024, and Austin in 2025. Their vision is to inspire a nationwide movement of empathy, support, and empowerment for houseless individuals.

Care packages include essentials tailored to the season, hygiene kits, blankets, gloves & socks, sunscreen. Warm meals are provided based on funding availability and support from sponsors, such as local restaurants.

These care packages and meals go beyond providing basic necessities—they serve as icebreakers to spark meaningful conversations and foster trust. They prioritize dignity and rehumanization over simply providing material aid.

Rami Sibai, Co-Founder of projectUmbrella, joined “Arizona Horizon” to discuss the care packages and the process for sharing them with the homeless.
