A new medical practice is changing the way families face Alzheimer’s disease. Led by dual board-certified neurologist and psychiatrist Dr. Dani Cabral, and founder of BrainLove, Dr. Cabral joined “Arizona Horizon” to discuss her medical practice and what they do to support Alzheimer’s patients.

BrainLove offers a modern, holistic approach to brain health that goes far beyond what traditional systems provide, focusing not only on the patient but also on the emotional well-being and resilience of their care partner.

Dr. Cabral explained BrainLove serves older adults experiencing memory concerns, cognitive decline, Alzheimer’s disease and related conditions while also supporting the people who love and care for them. Services include individualized medical care, brain health optimization, care partner mental health care, education, creative therapies and access to clinical research.

The practice is built on relationships and replaces fragmented care with proactive, personalized guidance. BrainLove integrates medical care with lifestyle strategies, identity work and creative therapies to support purpose and connection at every stage of life. BrainLove also challenges the stigma and isolation many families feel after an Alzheimer’s diagnosis.

“BrainLove is a new, innovative model of care for older adults facing cognitive decline Alzheimer’s and related diseases,” Dr. Cabral said. “We’re really taking a different approach than the traditional health and health care system. It’s a holistic approach.”

The program aims to tackle multiple aspects of the patient’s lives, including health, lifestyle, spirituality, psychology and more. The program also places additional emphasis on the caregivers or family of patients to ensure their safety and mental health.

“When the care partner thrives, everyone does,” Dr. Cabral said. “There are so many care partners, especially in Arizona, so everyone who’s facing this knows it.”

Dr. Cabral emphasized the importance of individualized patient care within the program. Staff learn about the lives of patients to provide the best personalized treatment for each person. This mantra is extended to the care partner as well, teaching coping and self care techniques.

“What we do at BrainLove is we give hope,” Dr. Cabral said. “We get clarity, then we say, ‘So what’s important to you? What do you want to do in your life? And how can we help?'”
