Early voting primer; education-to-career pathway, growing beneficial algae

More from this show

On this episode of “Arizona Horizon,” Stephanie Murray, a National Politics Reporter at The Arizona Republic, sat down to discuss early voting ballots. Questions such as “when do individuals receive their ballots” and “when do they need to send them” were answered.

We also heard from Rich Nickel, the President and CEO of Education Forward Arizona and Ricardo Lopez Valencia, the Senior VP of Education and Workforce Alignment at Education Forward Arizona, about Education Forward Arizona’s recent study on a new education-to-career pathway.

Finally, Wim Vermaas, a Foundation Professor at the School of Life Sciences at ASU, talked about how researchers have been testing how to grow beneficial algae to help make useful products like fuels, chemicals, and pigments. Harvesting CO2 from the air can help grow cyanobacteria and algae, which helps address climate change.
