Oct. 8
More from this showThe U.S. Supreme Court started a new session on Oct. 5, hearing challenges on an Arizona law that requires documentation that provides proof of citizenship when registering to vote. This is a policy that Republicans want to implement nationwide for all federal elections.
They will also review whether officials are giving enough due process before deporting migrants to third countries they have no ties to. As well as a decision on the legality of Trump’s mandatory detention policy. Decisions on both these cases are expected by next summer.
Stephen Montoya, Attorney at Montoya, Lucero and Pastor, joined “Arizona Horizon” to discuss the new SCOTUS session.
