Political consultant John Loredo along with Lisa Urias, president and CEO of Urias Communications, and Roy Herrera, lawyer for Statecraft, talk about Arizona primary election results, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s immigration plan and other political news in Arizona.

JOSE: JOINING ME TO TALK ABOUT DONALD TRUMP'S IMMIGRATION PLAN, AND OTHER POLITICAL NEWS IN ARIZONA ARE JAIME MOLERA, PARTNER WITH MOLERA ALVAREZ, A GOVERNMENT AND PUBLIC AFFAIRS FIRM. JAIME WAS ALSO THE FORMER SUPERINTENDENT OF PUBLIC INSTRUCTION. LISA URIAS, PRESIDENT AND C-E-O OF URIAS COMMUNICATIONS. AND ROY HERRERA, ATTORNEY WITH STATECRAFT LAW FIRM. THANK YOU FOR JOINING US. SO WE KNOW THAT THE MEXICAN FINANCE MINISTER LOST HIS JOB BECAUSE OF TRUMP'S SPEECH IN MEXICO CITY. I WANT TO TALK A LITTLE BIT ABOUT TRUMP'S SPEECH IN PHOENIX COST HIM OF ANY CHANCE HE HAS OF HIS STANDARD IMPROVING AMONG HISPANIC VOTERS. BUT FIRST, WHAT WAS THE PRESIDENT PENA NIETO THINKING WHEN HE EXTENDED THAT INVITATION TO TRUMP?

LISA URIAS: I AM NOT SURE WHAT HE WAS THINKING. CLEARLY THE UNITED STATES IS AN IMPORTANT PARTNER FOR MEXICO. ITS LARGEST TRADING PARTNER FOR MEXICO. ITS AN IMPORTANT ECONOMIC PARTNERSHIP THAT WE HAVE. BUT HE WAS BAMBOOZLED BY DONALD TRUMP. I THINK THAT HAD THE TRUMP CAMPAIGN--

JOSE: THE PRESIDENT EXTENDED THE INVITATION.

LISA URIAS: HE WAS. ABSOLUTELY. HE EXTENDED THE INVITATIONS TO BOTH CANDIDATES AND HAD THE TRUMP CAMPAIGN SAID THEY ARE COMING. THEY COULD HAVE HELD A CLOSED-DOOR MEETING BUT TO PUT HIM IN FRONT OF THE WORLD, ON THIS STAGE, WHERE IT MADE HIM LOOK PRESIDENTIAL AS THOUGH IT WAS PRESIDENT-TO-PRESIDENT AND HAVE THIS DISCUSSION THAT REALLY DIDN'T GO THROUGH THE FACTS OF WHAT TRUMP HAS BEEN SUGGESTING HE WAS GOING TO DO WAS REALLY A BIG MISTAKE ON PENA NIETO'S PART. HE IS 23% APPROVAL RATING AND I AM SURE THIS DIDN'T HELP AT ALL.

JOSE: ROY, DID IT ENHANCE TRUMP'S STANDING AS SOMEBODY WHO IS CREDIBLE WITH WORLD LEADERS?

ROY HERRERA: I DON'T THINK HE DID. I UNDERSTAND WHY HE WANTED TO GO DOWN THERE. HE WANTED TO DEMONSTRATE HE COULD BE HEAD OF STATE AND A DIPLOMAT.

JOSE: HE SOUNDED LIKE A RATIONAL PERSON AND SOME PEOPLE SAID HE THOUGHT HE WASN'T CAPABLE OF DOING THAT.

ROY HERRERA: THAT IS TRUE. IT'S A LOW BAR FOR TRUMP WHEN IT COMES TO RATIONAL THINGS. TO YOUR POINT, THEY HAD A CLOSED-DOOR MEETING AND THEN A PRESS CONFERENCE AND IMMEDIATELY THERE AFTER BOTH SIDES ARE SAYING DIFFERENT THINGS ABOUT WHAT WS ACTUALLY SAID IN THE MEETING. YOU HAVE ONE SIDE SAYING THEY DIDN'T DISCUSS PAYING FOR THE WALL AND YOU HAVE THE MEXICAN PRESIDENT SAYING YES, WE DID, AND I TOLD HIM DIRECTLY WE WERE NOT GOING TO PAY FOR IT. IT IS CONFUSING WHAT HAPPENED BEHIND CLOSED DOORS AND I DON'T THINK IT HELPED U.S.-MEXICO RELATIONS ESPECIALLY IF TRUMP BECOMES PRESIDENT.

JOSE: ANY SENSE OF WHO IS TELLING THE TRUTH? YOU WOULD THINK IF THE PRESIDENT HAD A DIFFERENT UNDERSTANDING OF THE CONVERSATION HE WOULD HAVE CORRECTED HIM AT THE CONFERENCE.

JAIME MOLERA: IT WAS MADE FOR TRUMP. THE PRESIDENT GAME HIM A SOFTBALL, AN OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE A FORUM AS A STATESMAN AS SOMEBODY THAT WASN'T IN A DEBATE. SOMEBODY WHO WASN'T ARGUING WHETHER OR NOT HIS POLICY IS WORKABLE. HE GAVE HIM THE FORUM SAYING I WILL BE SOMEONE THAT WILL NEGOTIATE AS A BUSINESS MAN AND I THINK IT HELPED HIM. I THINK IT HELPED TRUMP SHOW HIMSELF AS SOMEBODY THAT CAN BE A LEADER EVEN THOUGH A LOT OF EVEN REPUBLICANS WOULD SAY HIS POLICIES ARE JUST NOT DOABLE. HE GAVE HIM THAT FORUM AND PEOPLE ARE SCRATCHING THEIR HEAD AS TO WHY HE DID IT.

JOSE: THE TONE FROM THE CANDIDATE CHANGED A LOT WHEN HE GOT TO PHOENIX. A LOT OF PEOPLE THOUGHT THEY WOULD SEE A SOFTENING.

JAIME MOLERA: THERE IS A NUMBER OF LATINO LEADERS THAT WERE TRUMP SUPPORTERS BUT BECAUSE OF THE SPEECH THEY BACKED OFF. THE CHAIRMAN OF THE LATINOS FOR TRUMP DECIDED HE WAS GOING TO RESIGN BECAUSE HE WAS LED TO BELIEVE THAT TRUMP WAS GOING TO SOFTEN HIS RHETORIC AROUND THE IMMIGRATION. IN THE PRIMARY HE HAD TO DO THIS AND BE TOUGH BUT DURING THE GENERAL I WILL BE THE KINDER AND MORE GENTLE DONALD TRUMP.

JOSE: WHAT IS THE MOST DISTURBING PART OF THAT? I DON'T THINK PEOPLE EXPECTED HIM TO SAY EVERYBODY COULD STAY. BUT HE BEGAN, AND BEFORE HE STARTED TALKING ABOUT HIS PLAN, HIS TEN POINTS, THERE WAS A CERTAIN NASTINESS ABOUT IT BEGINNING WITH MENTIONING THE GENTLEMEN WHO HAD BEEN KILLED BE SOMEONE WHO WAS HERE ILLEGALLY AND KEPT PILING IT ON ABOUT HOW BAD THE COUNTRY HAS BEEN IMPACTED FROM HIS VIEW BY IMMIGRANTS.

LISA URIAS: THIS HAS BEEN HIS PLAYBOOK FROM THE BEGINNING. RILING PEOPLE UP AND GETTING THEM UPSET AND ANGRY. IT IS A VERY DISTURBING TREND. HE CHANGES HIS POSITION AT EVERY TURN. WE SAW WHERE HE WAS AND THEN HE COMES JUST THREE HOURS LATER TO PHOENIX AND GIVES THIS SPEECH THAT IS REALLY HATE-FILLED AND BASED ON A LOT OF MISINFORMATION. PEOPLE WHO ARE HERE AS IMMIGRANTS ARE WORKING AND CONTRIBUTING AND HE TURNS IT INTO SINGLE STORIES YOU CAN FIND ANYWHERE IN ANY POPULATION.

JAIME MOLERA: I THINK THERE IS A METHOD TO HIS MADNESS. IF YOU LOOK AT ANY OF HIS POLLS WE SEE HIM DROPPING LIKE A STONE WITH THE LATINO AND AFRICAN-AMERICAN VOTERS. HE IS DOUBLING DOWN ON IF HE CAN GET THE WHITE MALE, 35-55 AND OLDER UPSET ENOUGH TO SAY THIS COUNTRY IS NOT WORKING FOR ME. DEMOCRATS AND REPUBLICANS MIGHT FEEL THIS WAY. THAT'S WHAT GOT ME THROUGH THE PRIMARY AND A LOT OF POLITICAL PUNDITS WOULD SAY IT'S NOT A GOOD STRATEGY BUT HE'S DOUBLING DOWN AND SAYING I THINK I CAN GET THOSE FOLKS IN OHIO, IN PENNSYLVANIA, IN VIRGINIA, AND ALL THOSE BATTLEGROUND STATES TO SAY YEAH HE'S RIGHT. THESE LATINOS, THESE IMMIGRANTS ARE TAKING OUR JOBS.

JOSE: AND HE WAS BEING CRITICIZED BY PEOPLE SAYING ANY SOFTENING WOULD NOT BE FAITHFUL TO HIS BELIEFS.

ROY HERRERA: I DON'T THINK SO BECAUSE I AGREE WITH MOST OF THE POLITICAL PUNDITS THAT ARE LOOKING AT THIS AND THE STRATEGISTS THAT SAY THAT BASE HE IS TRYING TO APPEAL TO ISN'T BIG ENOUGH TO WIN THE NATIONAL ELECTION OR THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE. THE IMPORTANT THING TO REMEMBER IS THEY SOLD THIS TO BE SOME KIND OF SOFTENING OF HIS POSITION. BUT WHAT HE ENDED UP DOING IN PHOENIX IS REITERATING THE SAME POSITION HE'S ALWAYS HAD. HE WANTS TO BUILD A WALL, WANTS MASS DEPORTATION FOR THE UNDOCUMENTED IMMIGRANTS, AND PUTTING PEOPLE'S FAMILIES UP THERE BY PEOPLE THAT WERE KILLED ILLEGALLY THAT SOMEONE EVERYONE HERE UNDOCUMENTED IS COMMITTING A CRIME. IT IS A HATE.

JOSE: LET'S LOOK AT HIS TEN-POINT PLAN. WE WILL THROW SLIDES UP AND I WANT TO TALK ABOUT THEM. NOT ALL OF THEM. WE HAVE HIS TEN POINTS. HE LEADS WITH BUILD THE WALL. THAT WAS THE BIG POINT AND A CONTRAST TO WHAT HE SAID IN MEXICO WHERE HE WAS SO LOW-KEY. AND HE WAS FOCUSED ON WHAT HAS BEEN GOING ON IN THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION AND TRYING TO TIE HILLARY CLINTON TO ALL OF THAT AND HE HAS HIS EXTREME VETTING AS SOMETHING HE WILL DO. AND THE LAST ONE, NUMBER TEN, SOME PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO SAY THIS WAS THE SOFTENING WHERE HE DIDN'T COME OUT AND SAY WE WILL DEPORT ALL 11 MILLION PEOPLE WHO ARE HERE AND INSTEAD SUGGESTED WE WILL GET TO THAT LATER BUT HE ALSO MADE IT CLEAR THERE WASN'T GOING TO BE A PATHWAY TO LEGALIZATION. IT SEEMED TO BE BUT I AM NOT GOING TO GO OUT OF MY WAY TO GET RID OF PEOPLE. HOW DID YOU SEE THAT?

ROY HERRERA: I AGREE YOU COULD READ INTO SOFTENING THEN BUT AT THE END OF THE DAY HE HAS GIVEN SPEECHES HE WANTS SOME SORT OF DEPORTATION FOR THE PEOPLE THAT ARE HERE. THE FUNNY THING ABOUT THIS WITH DONALD TRUMP AND HIS FOCUS ON IMMIGRATION IS WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE SHEER NUMBERS, IMMIGRATION IS DOWN. IT IS AT A DECADES-LONG LOW. WE DON'T HAVE AS MANY PEOPLE COMING HERE AS WE DID DURING THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION. HE THINKS THE CRISIS NEEDS TO BE DEALT WITH A WALL BUT I DON'T THINK IT.

JOSE: HE TALKED ABOUT A CRIME-RIDDEN AMERICA WHEN CRIME FOR THE MOST PART IS AT AN ALL-TIME LOW. BUT PEOPLE DON'T SEEM TO BE CONCERNED ABOUT THOSE KIND OF FACTS.

LISA URIAS: IT IS REALLY UNFORTUNATE. WHEN YOU LOOK AT IT THERE IS A TREMENDOUS OPPORTUNITY WE HAVE HAD. WE HAD SENATOR MCCAIN AND THE GANG OF EIGHT LEAD THE IMMIGRATION REFORM. WE COULD FIX THIS BUT IT IS JUST BEING USED AS A POLITICAL PLOY AGAIN IN THIS ELECTION WITH DONALD TRUMP. WORKING THROUGH THESE ISSUES, IF YOU LOOK AT THE FACTS THE FACTS ARE THE FACTS. IT HAS BEEN SUGGESTED WITHOUT THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS TO THE SOCIAL SECURITY SYSTEM WHERE THEY AREN'T GETTING MONEY BACK, SOCIAL SECURITY WOULD BE OUT OF MONEY SEVEN YEARS EARLIER. THERE ARE ALL THESE WAYS THAT IMMIGRANTS CONTRIBUTE. WAYS THAT BUSINESSES HAVE WANTED THOSE IMMIGRANTS HERE AND NEEDED THOSE IMMIGRANTS HERE. WE NEED IMMIGRATION REFORM BUT DONALD TRUMP DOESN'T WANT TO TALK ABOUT THAT.

JOSE: YOU NOTED THE SPEECH CAUSED TRUMP SUPPORTERS WHO WERE PROMINENT HISPANICS WHO CAME OUT IN FAVOR OF HIM TO NOW DENOUNCE HIM. BEFORE THE SPEECH HIS THINKING WAS HIS OUTREACH TO THE BLACK COMMUNITY AND THE SOFTENING ON IMMIGRATION WAS AN EFFORT TO REACH OUT TO REPUBLICAN WHITE, WOMEN VOTERS AND SHOWING HE WASN'T AS AWFUL AS THEY MIGHT THINK. DO YOU THINK IT COST HIM SOMETHING THERE?

JAIME MOLERA: I THINK IT DOES. BUT, I GUESS, PROBABLY AN ARGUMENT WITHIN HIS CAMP AS TO WHAT TACT DO THEY WANT TO TAKE. DO THEY WANT TO TAKE THE TRADITIONAL ROUTE OF SOFTENING WHICH IS WHAT THE CAMPAIGN LOOKED LIKE AFTER THE CONVENTION? HE CHANGED HIS LEADERSHIP TEAM TO DOUBLE DOWN AND GET THE HARDLINERS INVOLVED AND SAY, YOU KNOW, WHAT, IT SEEMS LIKE YOUR METHOD WORKED TO THIS POINT SO WE NEED TO GO AFTER THE UNION WORKERS THAT ARE UPSET. WE WILL GO AFTER THE DISENFRANCHISED AMERICANS THAT FEEL THE GOVERNMENT ISN'T WORKING FOR THEM ANYMORE. WHETHER OR NOT THAT WILL WORK, I WILL AGREE FROM THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE STANDPOINT THAT IS HARD. MITT ROMNEY WON THE MOST WHITE MALE VOTE IN ANY ELECTION EVER. IN ANY OTHER ELECTION, MITT ROMNEY WOULD HAVE BEEN THE UNITED STATES PRESIDENT. BUT BECAUSE OF THE CHANGING DEMOGRAPHICS, THE GROWTH OF THE AFRICAN-AMERICANS AND PARTICULARLY THE LATINO COMMUNITY, THOSE NUMBERS DON'T WORK. TRUMP REALLY HAS TO GET THE WHITE VOTE AND IT SEEMS LIKE THAT IS THE TACT THEY WILL HAVE TO DO BECAUSE THEY CANNOT PENETRATE THE MINORITY VOTE. THAT IS WHY I THINK, YEAH, THEY WOULD HAVE COME OUT WITH A SOFTENING BUT THE POLLING NUMBERS TOLD THEM TO DOUBLE DOWN ON THIS ANTI-IMMIGRATION.

LISA URIAS: AND JAIME'S POINT IS SO IMPORTANT. AS YOU ARE SUGGESTING THE WORLD IS MOVING TOWARD INCLUSION. THE MILLENNIALS AND THE X-GENERATION. THE WOMEN VOTE, THE MINORITY VOTE, HISPANIC, AFRICAN-AMERICAN EVEN THE ASIAN VOTE. THESE NUMBERS ARE RISING. THE OLDER POPULATION IS DWINDLING.

JOSE: IF THAT IS THE CASE WHY ARE THE POLLS TIGHTENING?

LISA URIAS: I THINK ON A NATIONAL LEVEL YOU SEE THE CLOSING PRINCIPALLY BECAUSE SECRETARY CLINTON HAS BEEN IN TOUGH BATTLES OF HER OWN AND PEOPLE ARE TIRED OF ESTABLISHMENT POLITICIANS. THERE IS A LARGE MOVEMENT ACROSS THE NATION TO TRY TO GET NEW LEADERSHIP NO MATTER WHAT. AND THAT IS PROBLEMATIC IN SOME WAYS AND A CHALLENGE SENATOR CLINTON IS GOING TO HAVE TO OVERCOME.

JOSE: LET'S TALK ABOUT THE IMPACT HERE OF THE TRUMP SPEECH. ROY, IS ARIZONA IN PLAY?

ROY HERRERA: I THINK IT IS DEFINITELY IN PLAY. THE POLLING SHOWS THAT. THE POLLING FROM THE CRONKITE SCHOOL AND WILSON INSTITUTE HAD HILLARY UP BY A POINT AND A HALF. THERE'S OTHER POLLING THAT HAS SHOWN BASICALLY THE SAME THING. I THINK IT IS DEFINITELY IN PLAY. I THINK THE FACT HILLARY IS IN ARIZONA RUNNING ADS WHICH IS SOMETHING THAT HASN'T BEEN DONE IN A LONG TIME.

JOSE: AND SPEAKING OF PRESENCE HERE. ON WEDNESDAY OF THIS WEEK WE HAD A VISIT FROM TIM KAINE'S WIFE. ANN. WE HAVE VIDEO WE WILL SHOW WHILE WE TALK ABOUT THIS. HOW SERIOUS ARE THE DEMOCRATS? IS THIS A WAY TO GET TRUMP TO SPEND MONEY HERE THAT HE COULD USE ELSEWHERE? OR DO THEY THINK THEY HAVE A CHANCE

JAIME MOLERA: I THINK IN THEIR HEART OF HEARTS THEY KNOW ARIZONA IS NOT A STATE THEY COULD WIN. BUT IF THE LATINO VOTE COMES OUT MORE AGGRESSIVELY, IF REPUBLICAN WOMEN CONTINUE TO BE DISENFRANCHISED. TRUMP'S RHETORIC TURNS OFF A LOT OF WOMEN AND THEY KNOW THAT. THEN, YEAH, MAYBE. I THINK IT IS VERY DIFFICULT FOR ANY DEMOCRAT TO OVERCOME A 170,000 VOTER GAP. THERE ARE 170,000 MORE REPUBLICAN REGISTERED VOTERS. THAT IS A BIG MOUNTAIN TO CLIMB. BUT WITH MONEY, RESOURCES AND THE ORGANIZATION THEY PUT IN, YEAH, THEY MIGHT HAVE A CHANCE AND THAT IS WHY I THINK THEY ARE PUTTING IN MODEST AD BUYS RIGHT NOW. IF THOSE POLL NUMBERS SHOW IT COULD BE MOMENTUM I WOULD EXPECT THEM THE DOUBLE DOWN AND YOU COULD SEE MORE MONEY COMING TO ARIZONA.

JOSE: LET'S SWITCH TO THE ARIZONA ELECTION RESULTS. SOME MAY BE IMPACTED BY WHAT IS GOING ON AT THE NATIONAL LEVEL. WE HAVE SENATOR MCCAIN UP FIRST WHO OVERCOME STRONG OPPOSITION FROM WARD. IS MCCAIN HURTING IN THE GENERAL BECAUSE OF HIS CONNECTIONS WITH TRUMP?

JAIME MOLERA: WELL, PEOPLE KNOW HE HAS CONNECTIONS WITH TRUMP WHEN HE SAID HE WAS GOING TO ENDORSE THE REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE WHOEVER IT IS. AND HE SAID THAT WAY BACK THEN. MCCAIN HAS HAD ENOUGH DIFFERENCES WITH DONALD TRUMP TO SHOW THEY ARE NOT BEST FRIENDS AND THEY ARE NOT EXCHANGING CHRISTMAS CARDS.

JOSE: ANYTHING TRUMP COULD DO NOW BETWEEN NOW AND THE GENERAL THAT COULD MAKE MCCAIN SAY THAT IS IT?

JAIME MOLERA: IT'S INTERESTING BECAUSE IT'S VERY DIFFICULT FOR A UNITED STATES SENATOR WHO IS RUNNING IN A GENERAL ELECTION TO SAY I AM DESERTING THE HEAD OF OUR PARTY. HE IS NOT RUNNING WITH I AM JOHN MCCAIN, YOU ELECT ME AND YOU WILL GET A VOTE FOR TRUMP. IT IS NOT HAPPENING.

JOSE: LET'S GO TO RACES I WOULD THINK ARE NOT GOING TO BE AFFECTED BY TRUMP BECAUSE THESE ARE STRONG REPUBLICAN SEATS. SOME OF THEM. IN C-D5 WE HAVE A SCREEN UP HERE. YOU HAVE GOT -- AND I WANT TO EMPHASIZE THEY ARE NOT CALLING THE ELECTIONS CLOSE. A BIT OF A SURPRISE HOW CLOSE THAT IS. YOU ARE ONE OF THE LAWYERS INVOLVED FOR BIGGS WE SHOULD MENTION. HOW BIG OF A SURPRISE WAS THIS?

LISA URIAS: I THINK IT WAS A PRETTY BIG SURPRISE ON THE REPUBLICAN SIDE. I THINK MOST PEOPLE THOUGHT ANDY BIGGS WAS GOING TO TAKE THE RACE BUT CHRISTINE JONES SPENT A LOT OF MONEY ON THE CAMPAIGN. HER ADS WERE RUNNING AND THEY WERE EFFECTIVE. IT IS INTERESTING TO SEE A NINE-VOTE LEAD ON THE PART OF BIGGS RIGHT NOW AND SEE WHAT WILL HAPPEN.

JOSE: LET ME GET TO THESE QUICKLY BECAUSE WE ARE GETTING NEAR THE END OF THE SHOW. CD-1. WE HAVE THE SHERIFF UP HERE. HE DID SOME PEOPLE THINK SURPRISINGLY WELL AND OTHERS SAY GIVEN ALL THE MONEY HE HAS IT IS CLOSER TO WHAT YOU WOULD EXPECT AND HE WILL HAVE A TOUGH TIME IN THE GENERAL ELECTION.

JAIME MOLERA: ABSOLUTELY. PENZONE IS A FORMIDABLE CANDIDATE AND WITH LEGAL TROUBLES AND WHO KNOWS WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN AND IF THERE IS FURTHER INDICTMENTS AND ISSUES THAT SHERIFF JOE FACES. THIS MIGHT BE THE YEAR THAT AGAIN IT HAS AN EFFECT AND THERE MIGHT BE A LOT OF REPUBLICAN WOMEN SAYING YOU KNOW I AM DONE WITH SHERIFF JOE AND I THINK A LOT OF DEMOCRATS ARE BANKING ON THAT.

JOSE: THE OTHER ELECTION WE WANT TO PUT UP IT IS CD1. INTERESTING RESULTS THERE. I WANT TO TALK ABOUT O'HALLERAN ON THE DEMOCRATIC SIDE. FORMER REPUBLICAN AND LEGISLATURE AND NOW EXPECTATION IS HE WILL BE PRETTY STRONG GOING AGAINST THE WINNER OF THE REPUBLICAN RACE.

ROY HERRERA: I THINK THAT IS RIGHT. I MEAN THIS IS CD-1 AND THE DISTRICT ANN KIRPATRICK HAD FOR A WHILE. THE REGISTRATION IN THE DISTRICT IS PRETTY EVEN. HE IS A MODERATE DEMOCRAT AND SHERIFF BEVY HAS HIS OWN PROBLEMS THAT I THINK THE DEMOCRATS WILL TRY TO EXPLOIT AND I THINK THEY WILL BE SUCCESSFUL. THAT'S A DISTRICT THAT I EXPECT TO STAY IN DEMOCRATIC HANDS.

JOSE: WHAT DO YOU THINK?

LISA URIAS: I AGREE A HUNDRED PERCENT.

JOSE: CD2 WAS A RACE ON THE DEMOCRATIC SIDE THAT PEOPLE WERE INTERESTED IN. YOU HAVE HIENZ AND STEELE.

ROY HERRERA: THAT IS RIGHT. STEELE IS A FORMER LEGISLATURE AND DR. HIENZ WAS IN THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION. AGAIN, THAT IS GOING TO BE A TOUGH RACE. A TIGHT RACE. LAST TIME AROUND IN CD2 REPRESENTATIVE MCSALLY ONLY ONE BY SEVERAL HUNDRED VOTES. IT IS A HIGHLY CONTESTED SWING DISTRICT AND I THINK IT WILL BE THE SAME KIND OF THING AGAIN.

JOSE: WE ONLY HAVE 30 SECONDS LEFT. YOU ARE THE SENIOR PERSON HERE. I WILL GIVE YOU THE LAST WORD. WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN NATIONAL LEVEL AND THEN HERE IN ARIZONA?

JAIME MOLERA: I STILL BET THAT DONALD TRUMP WINS ARIZONA. ALBEIT SLIGHTLY. I THINK JOHN MCCAIN WINS AND TOM WINS IN CD 1. I THINK MCSALLY WINS BUT WINS BECAUSE OF MCCAIN'S HELP. AND I THINK HILLARY CLINTON IS GOING TO BE THE NEXT PRESIDENT.

JOSE: WE WILL SEE WHAT HAPPENS. THANK YOU FOR JOINING US ON "HORIZONTE" TO TALK ABOUT. REMEMBER IF YOU NEED TO WATCH PREVIOUS EPISODES OR SEE WHAT IS COMING UP ON HORIZONTE GO TO A-Z- P-B-S DOT ORG SLASH HORIZONTE THANKS FOR WATCHING.
