Arizona State University’s Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions has launched the One Square Mile Initiative to identify the community’s biggest challenges and the steps needed to improve them.

Maryvale, a Phoenix neighborhood, accounts for 10% of Maricopa County. However, it also remains one of the poorest where nearly 40% of residents are without a high school diploma. Watts College is working with Design Studio for Community Solution to help identify new design concepts.
