National Memorial Day Concert 2012

More from pressroom

PBS honors the service of men and women in uniform with broadcasts of new and encore programs during May and on Memorial Day, Monday, May 28, 2012. Now an annual tradition in its 23rd year, the National Memorial Day Concert, hosted by Gary Sinise and Joe Mantegna with a star-studded lineup of performers, will air live from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol. On Monday, May 28, Independent Lens presents Hell and Back Again, the Academy Award-nominated documentary featuring the overlapping stories of a Marine at war and of the same Marine in recovery at home. The National Memorial Day Concert 2012 airs Sunday, May 27, 2012 at 7 and 8:30 p.m. on Eight.

“Memorial Day is a time for reflection on the sacrifice and service of veterans and their families,” said John F. Wilson, SVP and Chief Programming Executive. “We hope that all Americans will take time to remember and honor these real-life heroes who serve our country every day.”
