Feb. 1, 2016
PHOENIX – (Feb. 1, 2016)
Central Sound at Arizona PBS has launched the free mobile application Classical Arizona PBS, providing an innovative way to stay in touch with the local and regional classical music scene and enjoy an abundance of professional classical recordings anytime.
The new app features streaming access to state-of-the-art recorded broadcasts of Central Sound productions featured on 89.5 FM KBAQ and Classical Arizona PBS (DTV 8.4), as well as a curated list of live classical music performances throughout Arizona, video excerpts from concerts, event photos and news updates.
“We created the Classical Arizona PBS app to be a one-stop, central resource for music lovers to stay up-to-date on classical music events throughout Arizona and to have 24/7 access to the extensive catalogue of performances captured by Central Sound’s premier recording technology, including our weekly broadcasts on KBAQ-FM,” said Alex Kosiorek, manager of Central Sound. “It is a wonderful tool that reinforces our mission of bringing classical and acoustic music performances of the highest professional caliber to our audience while supporting Arizona’s performing arts community.”
Content on the app will be refreshed at least twice a week. The curated list of Arizona’s upcoming live classical music performances provides links to venues, performers’ websites and ticketing. Additionally, future features for the mobile app will include video content from art-related Arizona PBS programs, such as select episodes of “ArtBeat,” among other series.
The Classical Arizona PBS mobile app is available on iOS and Android, and can be found on the Apple App Store and Google Play respectively. Information about the app, including higher quality streaming, will be available on Central Sound’s forthcoming new website at www.centralsound.net.
