ASU Research Review: Designing New Vaccines

Dr. Roy Curtiss, co-director of the Center for Infectious Diseases and Vaccinology at the Biodesign Institute is working to develop an improved vaccine, specifically for infants and children, that would protect against bacterial pneumonia. The vaccine would be a single dose, oral vaccine that would be relatively inexpensive and easy to administer. These qualities are particularly important for disease prevention efforts in undeveloped countries.
