The “Durrells in Corfu” returns for a fourth season of eccentric family adventures on a Greek isle in the 1930s. In this final season, things are looking up for the Durrells. Each member of the family is channeling their past heartbreaks in different ways.
Keeley Hawes stars as an intrepid widow who has ditched dreary England for a sun-dappled Greek island with her four recalcitrant children in this adaptation of Gerald Durrell’s book, “My Family and Other Animals” and its two sequels. The bohemian Durrells fit right in with the light-hearted Greeks — except when they disastrously don’t.
Based on Durrell’s collection of memoirs, family life is seen through the perspective of its animal-loving youngest member. The series features Hawes as the plucky mother, Louisa Durrell; Josh O’Connor as her eldest son, Lawrence, who is sure he’s destined to become a famous novelist; Callum Woodhouse as the hapless sportsman, Leslie; Daisy Waterstone as the lovelorn teen, Margo; and Milo Parker as young Gerald.
