‘Live from Lincoln Center’ brings Broadway stars to Arizona PBS in May

“Live From Lincoln Center” returns its “Stars in Concert” series for a second consecutive year.

Enjoy the best of Broadway, multi-talented musicians, storytellers and comedians every Sunday afternoon beginning at 2 p.m. during the month of May on Arizona PBS.

May 12

2 p.m.: Enjoy a soulful show of songs from one of Broadway’s brightest stars. British-born Cynthia Erivo won the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her performance in “The Color Purple” before starring in several films, including “Widows.” Watch online.

3 p.m.: Known for his Tony-nominated, Grammy-winning performance as Elder Price in “The Book of Mormon” and as Elijah in HBO’s “Girls,” Andrew Rannells brings his signature blend of superb vocal prowess and wry wit to a sparkling set of songs.

May 19

2 p.m.: Described by the New York Times as “luminous” and a “sly comic genius,” Annaleigh Ashford is a Broadway favorite who’s thrilled audiences in “Sunday in the Park with George” (opposite Jake Gyllenhaal), “Kinky Boots,” and “You Can’t Take It With You,” for which she won a Tony Award. She’s also earned television fame with turns on “Masters of Sex” and “American Crime Story.” The stunning performer lends her vocals and comedic verve to an evening of mischievous fun. Watch online.

3 p.m.: Winner of the 2016 Tony for Best Leading Actor in a Musical for his legendary performance as Aaron Burr in “Hamilton,” Leslie Odom Jr., a jazz vocalist with an actor’s ear for a lyric, brings his remarkable talent to this intimate performance.

May 26

2 p.m.: Join Megan Hilty, the Tony-nominated star of “Wicked,” “9 to 5: The Musical,” “Noises Off” and NBC’s “Smash,” for a new concert special featuring a versatile set of musical theater favorites and classic standards. Watch online.

3 p.m.: Two-time Tony winner Sutton Foster brings her irresistible talent and effusive charm to the intimate Appel Room for a special night with a special guest, two-time Tony nominee Jonathan Groff. Watch online.
