‘Horizonte’ talks support for women in legal practice

Saturday, May 2, at 6 p.m.

Only about 2% of lawyers in the U.S. are Latina. In 2010, Cristina Perez Hesano founded her law firm and, along the way, noticed a glaring gap: Women trial lawyers, particularly women of color, often lacked access to mentorship and support.

That realization led to the founding of Women of the Arizona Trial Lawyers Association (WAZTLA), a mentorship and leadership community that has grown into a vibrant sisterhood of more than 100 women attorneys statewide. “Horizonte” will talk with Hesano to learn more about the organization.
