Pizza restaurants on “Check, Please! Arizona”

Sometimes takeout pizza doesn’t hit the spot, so when you’re looking to try something different, look no further than “Check, Please! Arizona”. The show has featured many local pizza spots over the years, and we’ve created a list so you can try them all out!

Bella Gusto Urban Pizzeria

Bella Gusto is known for their wood fired oven pizzas made with 36-hour fermented dough. Additionally, the restaurant serves pasta dishes and features a bar with drinks like limoncello.

In addition to the excellent food, “Check, Please! Arizona” guests raved about the restaurant’s vibe.

“The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the staff are always friendly,” said guest Sylvia Cook.

You can visit Bella Gusto at 1964 N Alma School Road in Chandler, or you can check out their website for more information.

SPINATO'S PIZZERIA

Spinato’s Pizzeria and Family Kitchen

Spinato’s has been a Valley staple since its opening in 1974, and has since expanded to multiple locations throughout Phoenix. The restaurant is known for its homemade pizza dough and signature pizza sauces.

“Check, Please! Arizona” guests recommended the Meaty Pizza, stuffed mushrooms and spaghetti calzone.

“The combination of flavors is simply delicious,” said guest Louie Flores.

You can visit Spinato’s at one of their six locations throughout the Valley, or you can check out their website for more information.

Fabio on Fire

The “Fabio” in Fabio on Fire comes from owner Fabio Ceschetti, an Italian who brought his native cuisine to the Valley. The restaurant uses Ceschetti’s family recipes and the pizza dough is made from a starter that was made by Ceschetti’s grandfather in Italy.

“My pizza is famous because it’s really light and not too hard on your stomach,” Ceschetti said.

“Check, Please! Arizona” guests recommended the margherita pizza, the restaurant’s handmade pasta and the tiramisu.

You can visit Fabio on Fire at 8275 W Lake Pleasant Parkway in Peoria, or you can check out their website for more information.

LAMP Wood Oven Pizzeria

Pizza at LAMP is fired in a red brick oven fueled exclusively by oak and pecan wood that reaches temperatures up to 800 degrees. Owner Lindsay Pilato describes their pizza crust as “light and airy” with a little bit of crisp.

“Check, Please! Arizona” guests recommended the simple pizza, the eggplant parmesan and beef meatballs, and the cannoli and hazelnut crunch gelato.

You can visit LAMP at 8900 E Pinnacle Peak Road in Scottsdale, or you can check out their website for more information.

Bottega Ristorante

If you’re looking for a good date night spot, “Check, Please! Arizona” guests recommend Bottega Ristorante for its romantic atmosphere and excellent food. The Italian spot is known for it’s Neapolitan-style pizza and handmade pasta.

Guest Isabel Garibay recommended the margherita pizza. “It had the perfect amount of bite to it,” Garibay said. “The mozzarella it had was delicious.”

You can visit Bottega Ristorante at 19420 N 59th Avenue in Glendale, or you can visit their website for more information.

Humble Pie

Jorge Gomez, owner of Humble Pie, reinvents the classic pizza dish through a near-scientific process that includes a three day preparation for the pizza dough.

“I love the science behind food, and there is no science bigger than the pizza,” Gomez said. “Everybody loves pizza. It’s one of those internationally adored foods.”

Humble Pie’s menu has classics like pepperoni, but also has more experimental pies like their Korean chicken pizza or carnitas pizza. “Check, Please! Arizona” guests recommended the fig and prosciutto pizza.

You can visit Humble Pie at 6149 N Scottsdale Road in Scottsdale, or you can check out their website for more information.

Fired Pie

Fired Pie is a locally-owned chain that specializes in custom pizzas and salads made in minutes. Only six months after coming up with the concept for the restaurant, the co-owners had already opened three locations.

“I’ve been in pizza a long time,” said co-founder Fred Morgan. “My partner and I decided, ‘Hey, it’s time we did our own thing,’ so we came up with this concept Fired Pie.”

You can choose to build your own pizza or salad, or try one of the restaurant’s creations, like Hawaiian BBQ pizza or Spicy Southwest salad.

You can visit Fired Pie at one of their 16 Valley locations, or you can visit their website for more information.
