More from this show

Can classical music sound like a place? On this episode of Arizona Encore, composers bring to life the vistas, the winds and the colorful characters of the American West. Aaron Copland is probably the most famous composer to depict the mesas and ranch hands of our corner of the world, but he is hardly the only one There are so many other composers who captured that particular musical spirit as well: Elmer Bernstein, Ferde Grofe, even John Williams.
